INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY SHOWCASE 2025

USM PENANG, October 8, 2025 — Usains Infotech Sdn. Bhd., in collaboration with the Centre for Innovation and Consultation (CIC), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), successfully hosted the Intellectual Property Showcase 2025, an event dedicated to highlighting groundbreaking technologies developed by USM researchers and strengthening the bridge between academia and industry.

This year’s showcase placed a strong emphasis on the Semiconductor and Electrical & Electronics (E&E) sectors, which are key pillars identified under Malaysia’s national innovation and economic growth agenda. The event gathered industry leaders, researchers, and innovators to explore potential collaborations, technology transfers, and commercialization pathways in these high-impact fields.

Nathalie Yong, Assistant General Manager of USAINS Infotech, expressed her gratitude for the active participation from industry representatives, noting that their engagement reflects growing trust in USM’s capabilities in research, innovation, and knowledge transfer.

“Innovation cannot thrive in isolation. It requires partnerships, conversations and a shared commitment to turn ideas into reality,” said Nathalie Yong. She added that by working together, the knowledge generated within the university can be transformed into tangible products, services and solutions that bring real benefits to industries, communities, and society at large.

The event reaffirmed USM and USAINS Infotech’s shared mission to drive national progress through impactful research, technology commercialization, and sustainable industry partnerships that aligning with Malaysia’s aspirations to become a regional leader in innovation-driven growth.
